Everything was perfect. The new house, all the pretty furniture, and the brilliant game room! Galen like it, his own room set up prettily, though his things and clothing were all in Val’s closest. But he liked to call the Princess Suite his room.
He was in the bathroom, hair mostly dry. His pants clung to his waist and he looked a bit more frail than usual. But he didn’t take much notice. Leo have given him a whole new set of meds, and the pills were lined up on the counter with a glass of water. Anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, anti-something. He didn’t remember what they all did, just read he names off his list and popped them like candy.
He’d have about an hour before they really kicked in, and then things would get a bit loopy for a while. He hadn’t told Leo about the ‘loopy’ part. He sort of liked it, the way it dulled the weird voices. But he didn’t like the way he felt stupid. He avoided people during most of the day, trying not to encounter anyone that would insist he needed to answer a question or talk to them.
Pills taken, he found a long-sleeved tee shirt to pull on, humming to himself as he wandered out into the Master den and yawned. He could just crawl back into bed for a long time.
